Model fill patterns are based on the actual dimensions in the building model and will rotate with the object. "In order for the fill pattern to rotate, it must be set to a "Pattern Type" of "Model" versus "Drafting." Drafting fill patterns are based on the scale of the view. However, what I've discovered is that the scale of the plywood patterns we typically use becomes too dense and Revit can't create it as a model pattern. According to Autodesk, the only way to get the plywood hatch to follow the orientation of you component is to make it a model hatch pattern, then you'd be able to align the hatch pattern after the component is placed. What Dan refers too only applies if the hatch is part of a system family, walls, roofs, ceilings, floors. As a detail component, the hatch is defined as a hatch pattern in the DC family, not in the project. ![]()
